I am a physiotherapist with over 44 year of experience and have spent the last 10 years practising in in Hermanus. Prior to that I worked in the UK for a year and before that, I ran the Physiotherapy department at Victoria Hospital. I studied at UCT, graduating in 1975 with a B.Sc. (Physio).
After graduating and before coming to Hermanus I have worked at orthopaedic & paediatric hospitals as well as a small general hospital where I gained all round comprehensive experience in a variety of orthopaedic, paediatric, surgical & medical conditions. I also worked in the UK where I was part of a community assessment and rehabilitation team.
Since I have come to Hermanus I have worked at a private practice, where my time was split between hospital and private practice room work. The focus of the room work was assessing, treating and re-evaluating patients with predominately neuro-musculoskeletal problems as well as respiratory conditions, strokes and medical conditions.
In addition, home visits were part of my daily routine. My Hermanus Mediclinic hospital work focus is in the High Care Unit and as well as Ward work.
I have good hands-on skills and would describe myself as a hardworking, thorough, energetic, empathetic, enthusiastic and flexible clinician.
